07/08 - Colmek Shines at Showcase

Last week Jim Decker and George McEwan represented Colmek at the VASIC Spiderworks technology showcase. Colmek was front and center with our 42 monitors, used to create the concept demonstrator called Command 360. The demonstrations were attended by interested parties in the submarine fleet ranging from procurement, operational planners, and submarine command staff officers.

In addition to our monitors being a centerpiece of the event, Colmek showcased the Echoscope data on the display screens in the command ring. Even though the main event is over for this year, the demonstrator will remain open and Northrop Grumman has already indicated there are several admirals and senior pentagon planners who are going to tour the Command 360 virtual bridge in anticipation of potential changes to the Virginia class submarines in future technology refresh work.

The event was a big feather in our cap as we stood side by side with Microsoft, HP, and IBM as major contributors to the effort. As the show came to a close we were able to setup follow on meetings with several of the partner companies and are pursuing numerous valuable leads including the Microsoft surface technology group.

We are excited about next year where the demonstrator will move into a phase 3 modes where the event will revolve around data fusion and advanced sensor types. Echoscope will be our showcase technology and we are thrilled to be putting it right in the face of those who can use it and more importantly those who have the money to buy it!
