Dave Robinson

Dave Robinson joined the Coda Octopus family in 2007 as President of Coda Octopus Tactical Intelligence (COTI). Mr. Robinson develops courses and conducts live training solutions for the US Coast Guard, Department of Defense, and Port Security agencies in anti-terrorism, waterborne tactics, counter-surveillance, and counter-ambush techniques. Units his team has trained include the Coast Guard’s International Training Division, the Army’s 101st Airborne, 3rd ID, 4th ID, and 25th ID, the 3rd Battalion 5th Marines, the Army’s Counter-Intelligence Activity, and Air Force EOD units, to name a few.
Prior to joining the Coda Octopus team, Mr. Robinson had over fifteen years experience in Naval Intelligence and Government Contracting. From 1993-1997, Mr. Robinson conducted mission planning & training exercises for Naval Special Warfare Group 2 & the Constellation Carrier Battle Group. While attached to the Maritime Liaison Office in Manama, Bahrain, he conducted HUMINT activities, studying terrorist and piracy tactics, techniques and procedures.
In 2006, Mr. Robinson worked closely with the US State Department and the United Nations mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo, negotiating the successful release of 32 kidnapped personnel who were held hostage in Kinshasa. He has worked extensively on the continent of Africa.
In the fight against piracy, Mr. Robinson has conducted numerous vulnerability assessments and developed training and anti-piracy plans for dozens of commercial vessels and crews operating in the Gulf of Aden, Gulf and Guinea, and Southeast Asia. He is currently working with the STAR Center in designing an anti-piracy course for the American Maritime Officer’s Union. COTI has been featured on CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360 for its efforts.
Mr. Robinson continues to serve his country as a Reserve Naval Intelligence Officer stationed at the Joint Intelligence Center, Central Command with a focus on expeditionary warfare. He received his bachelor's degree in Diplomacy & Foreign Affairs from Miami University, and has continuing education at the Dolobois European Center in Luxembourg, the Navy Marine Corps Intelligence Training Center in Dam Neck, VA, and the Fleet Intelligence Training Center in San Diego, CA.
