Circuit Card Manufacturing

The staff at Colmek has the skills and training to prepare prototypes and build small production runs of customized circuit card assemblies. Components can be mounted on one or both sides, surface mount or through-hole, and can include specialty processes such as conformal coating and solderability testing. Colmek's rigorous quality assurance program guarantees assemblies conform to the most exacting specifications for workmanship and cleanliness, no matter how small or large the order. A photos of our manufacturing floor along with our onsite temperature chamber are shown, along with a photos of our production test lab that is also used to for burn-in and repair work.

Sub-Assembly Manufacture

The versatile manufacturing floor personnel at Colmek can build a wide variety of computer sub-assemblies for low volume production, without the expense of an automation ramp-up. Our broad experience includes removable media carriers, chassis, card cages, shielded RF assemblies, power modules, full MIL-STD RF modules, telemetry modules, back planes, cables, and chassis of all varieties, including rapid prototypes.

Climate Controlled Enclosures

Colmek designs and builds sealed enclosures to resolve the challenges created by the harshest environments. Extending the operating temperature and vibration ranges of commercially available equipment is our specialty, but Colmek can solve any environmental enclosure problem, whether it's portable equipment shelters or surface ships, sub-sea vessels or rotary wing aircraft. Our successful designs have included technologies like EMI gaskets, shock mounts, machined aluminum chassis, air-to-air heat exchangers, and solid-state heating and cooling.

Cable Assembly

On-site custom cable making technicians provide Colmek with added capability for quick-turn production runs and field repair. Maintaining this key resource allows for cost containment advantages and compliments a continually improving manufacturing business.

Colmek has produced numerous electronic assemblies, subassemblies and housing over the years, for customers including NSWC – Panama City, Raytheon Electronics (Portsmouth, R.I.), Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems, and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute. Colmek has produced electronic subassemblies in quantities of one to two hundred.

Approved Suppliers

Colmek also holds key business relationships with outside fabricators and testing shops. Outsourcing and subcontracting are provided to Colmek Certified Suppliers including machine and sheet metal shops, who provide superior quality and timeliness on specialized jobs and projects. These suppliers are chosen based on strengths and core competencies which best suit the goals of and successful completion of projects.

In addition to rapid turn, Colmek requires partners to consistently demonstrate high quality and maintain associated certifications including ISO 9001 and AS9100, and to consistently demonstrate first pass product success in a short schedule environment.
