AQS-24 Airborne Control & Data Processor
The Airborne C&D Processor rides onboard an MH-53 helicopter, in the payload support rack, as it performs its mine hunting mission. The environment it survives in is controlled, but in addition to the relentless vibration of the aircraft, it is also regularly exposed to salt spray and extreme temperatures.
It has evolved through numerous technology refresh phases and the latest one integrated the CP, Recorder, and NGOS SPU into one shelf with Active Thermal Electric Cooling. It also resolved obsolescence Issues, reduced overall weight, increased reliability and maintainability, and reduced overall System Complexity.
