AQS-24 Airborne Control & Data Processor

AQS-24 Airborne Control & Data Processor

The Airborne C&D Processor rides onboard an MH-53 helicopter, in the payload support rack, as it performs its mine hunting mission. The environment it survives in is controlled, but in addition to the relentless vibration of the aircraft, it is also regularly exposed to salt spray and extreme temperatures.

It has evolved through numerous technology refresh phases and the latest one integrated the CP, Recorder, and NGOS SPU into one shelf with Active Thermal Electric Cooling. It also resolved obsolescence Issues, reduced overall weight, increased reliability and maintainability, and reduced overall System Complexity.

Rugged PCs
Colmek has developed a family of rugged PCs based on PC-104, and many are available as COTS with various interface options (0 to 85 Deg C case temperature, 95% RH). They are all incased in sealed aluminum providing EMI shielding and tolerance to harsh environments. Various constructions include hogged out aluminum and lower cost discrete aluminum plates, and various paint grades. Colmek also offers a family case options for applications requiring larger PC-104 stacks. Options include Solid State Drive, Compact Flash, NTSC/PAL, MPEG4, H264, CAN, and Gig Ethernet.
