Job Description:

Coda Octopus Colmek is looking for an experienced embedded software engineer with a desire to design software for unique boards and systems. The candidate will work with software for devices ranging from simple micro-controllers to sophisticated multi-processor systems.

Colmek is an exciting place to work and unlike some larger companies, Colmek engineers directly see the effects of their work. This is a great opportunity for a "hands-on" software engineer who wants to be involved in a wide variety of interesting projects.

The candidate must be able to read and understand requirements, interact with other members of the technical staff, design and implement software, perform engineering analyses, and participate in design reviews.

The candidate should understand the overall engineering process, from design kick-off to production; and, must be capable of interacting with the various disciplines involved in production of a product. In addition to the required software design abilities, the ideal candidate will have experience with HDL coding for FPGAs.

Education - Experience:

• Equivalent of a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
• A Masters Degree is preferred
• At least 3 years of relevant industry experience

Required Skills:

• Programming in C, C++
• RTOS and/or multiprocess software experience
• Experience with embedded and/or desktop Linux
• Microcontroller and/or DSP interfacing
• Driver software experience
• Experience with CVS or similar SCCS
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and time management skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office products or their equivalents

Desired Skills:

• Embedded systems engineering
• Programming in Matlab
• Programming in Python
• TCP/IP programming
• Verilog and/or VHDL programming
• Understanding of electronics design
