U.A.V. Mission Computer

Operating in extreme conditions over potentially hostile environments, unmanned air vehicles (UAV's) present difficult challenges to designing engineers.

These challenges were recently faced by the Colmek engineering team, who quickly responded with leading-edge ideas and solutions relevant to the application. By working closely with a major defense prime, a specification was jointly developed from the ground floor; the Colmek engineering team then constructed a system designed to meet the unique requirements of a UAV.

Key to this successful design was finding the right balance of low power consumption electronics, a robust and reliable operating system and thermal considerations, plus space and weight constraints.

The resulting product became known as the Stinger, Rugged Mission Computer.
