Navy Subsea Electronics & Systems

Coda Octopus Colmek created the DPP (Diver Processing Pack) for the Diver Augmented Vision Display (DAVD), which is a complete end-to-end diver management solution built by sister company Coda Octopus Products and supported by the Naval Research Office (NRO), incorporating a high-resolution see-through heads-up display (HUD) embedded directly in the diving helmet. The DPP is a NVIDIA Jetson-based solution fully submersible solution that is the processing heart of DAVD. The DPP is a key example of the customer-designed solutions Coda Octopus Colmek can provide as part of its Thermite® rugged embedded computing offerings.

Navy Surface Electronics & Systems

Coda Octopus Colmek has recently been chosen to provide a custom Thermite® solution for a critical US Navy carrier application. Coda Octopus Colmek will build the solution using its standard Thermite® Octal as its basis, but re-deisgn key elements to meet critical performance and environmental requirements of the application. By basing the solution on a standard product, Coda Octopus Colmek is able to provide a customer solution quickly and cost-effectively. The product will go into full production following a qualification phase.

Sonar Systems & Technology

Coda Octopus Colmek was founded in 1977, and technology to support sonar systems were among the first products. Coda Octopus Colmek has long supported the US Navy-critical AQS-24 Minehunting System. Through its years of effort on the program, Coda Octopus Colmek's scope has grown to include re-design and manufacture of the custom telemetry system, design and manufacture of the Control & Data Processor Computer (C&DP), and the design and implementation of the control and visualization software for the AQS-24 operator.

Radar Systems & Technology

The AN/TPS-71 ROTHR (Relocatable Over-the-Horizon Radar) was originally used for early warning long distance radar, but the systems remained in use due to their affordability and wide area of coverage, and suitability for drug interdiction operations. Now, ROTHR systems remain relevant given the ability to detect low-visibility, stealth and hypersonic vehicles, which are designed to defeat higher frequency radars but are less effective in preventing detection in the HF/VHF bands of the ROTHR radars. Given the long service life of these systems, support and upgrades have been required. Coda Octopus Colmek re-designed a 16-channel digital signal conditioning system, which processed raw analog signals for improved ROTHR system performance and sensitivity, and continues to manufacture this capability for ROTHR installations.

Weapons Control Systems

Coda Octopus Colmek has been a long-term supplier on the Phalanx program, re-designing and producing various system components for many years. Phalanx systems are fielded throughout US and Allied defense forces. At sea, navies use Phalanx to defeat anti-ship missiles and close-in threats that have pierced other lines of defense. On land, the U.S. Army uses the weapon system to detect and counter rocket, artillery and mortar systems. Coda Octopus Colmek has re-designed, and continues to supply, multiple elements of the fielded system, including a VME chassis housing system control and computing capabilities, and a custom ethernet switch. Coda Octopus Colmek has recently begun re-design of an obsolete terminal component for the system, which will be phased into production following the current design phase.

Electronics for Unmanned Platforms

Coda Octopus Colmek has provided multiple ruggedized solutions for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), unmanned ground vehicles (UGV), unmanned surface vehicles (USV), and unmanned underwater vehicles. Typical applications include data capture, processing, and control.

Military Embedded Computing Solutions

Despite for the most challenging military conditions, Thermite® base-models are both compact and highly-configurable. Each has unique capabilities for CPU, GPU, storage, and I/O intensive applications. Our value-added capabilities ensure you get the product and software you need to accomplish your mission.

Electronic Warfare

Coda Octopus Colmek has recently been selected to re-design an obsolete VME card providing critical control functions for the ALQ-167 electronic countermeasures threat simulation pod. Upon completion and qualification of the re-design, Coda Octopus Colmek will be the manufacturer of the re-designed card.
